St. Joseph’s Preparatory School offers an education other schools cannot: an exceptional college prep learning experience rooted in Jesuit spirituality that fosters independence and maturity through its urban setting and unique blend of motivated, hardworking students.

The only true way to know what it is like is by experiencing it for yourself. There are many different ways for prospective students and families to learn more about the Prep. Some are for the student only, but others involve the whole family.

Shadow Visits

The HAWKLIFE Shadow Visit is designed to allow interested students the opportunity to experience a FULL day at the Prep and a chance to get a jump-start on the high school process. Shadowing is not mandatory as part of the application process, but it is a great opportunity for students to learn more about the Prep! In the course of his day, your son will interact with current 9th graders and become familiar with the campus, the academic programs, and the student body.

TRANSFER STUDENTS
If you are a current 9th grader or 10th grader at another high school and would like to shadow the Prep this fall, please email admissions@novaad.net or call 215-978-1958 to set up a shadow day.

Family Tours

Families can stay for a tour of the Prep on the same morning as their son's shadow visit from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Parents do NOT need to register for a tour on the same day as their son's shadow visit. Simply show up on the day of the scheduled shadow visit. The tour will start in the Prep's lobby located via the 18th Street side of the building.

Open House

Each fall, prospective students (grades 5-8) and families are invited to our annual Open House. Here you will be led on tour by our best advocates: our students! Let them show you their school and point out the things they love about the Prep. In addition, all of our faculty and coaches are in attendance to offer more information. Mass is offered to those who wish to celebrate in the historic Church of the Gesu.

Sneak Peek

6th and 7th grade families are invited to hear from current faculty, staff, and students about why the Prep is the best choice for their sons. This event, held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025, will feature Q&A panels, interactive informational booths, games, and more! Space is limited and registration is required.

Registration will open in November 2024.
